Review: Gel Manicure at Bliss

If you're anything like me, you love having your nails painted. It makes you feel feminine and polished, pretty and put together. It makes any outfit complete. However, you never seem to get time to paint them. I also find that as soon as one nail chips, I'd rather take the whole lot off. So I thought that gel nails would be the perfect solution for me, as gel lasts much longer than normal nail varnish.

On entering Bliss Spa, the salon is beautifully decorated. The staff, from the girl I spoke to on the phone to everyone who I met there, were lovely and friendly. There were plenty of gel colours to choose from, and the nail therapist assisted me in choosing an oxblood colour. My cuticles were pushed back, and my nails buffed and filed, with the therapist asking me if i'd prefer square or oval nails. The gel required no base coat as it has one built in, however it required several coats to give a really rich colour. After each coat you place your hand under a lamp to set the gel, finishing with a top coat. Throughout the treatment the therapist was chatty, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, I really enjoyed being pampered in a beautiful salon. The treatment took around 40 minutes to complete, and I was really pleased with the results. The gel looks great and I have been complimented on it a lot. Moreover, the gel is lasting really well without chipping at all! I would recommend this treatment to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a bit of pampering, as it was an enjoyable way to spend 40 minutes and the end result was lovely.
