Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids are proud to announce their new patron, local singer/songwriter and star of BBC 1’s new programme Let It Shine, Curtis T Johns.

Curtis was born in Leeds Harehills then raised in Seacroft. From the age of 12, throughout his time at Agnes Stewarts High School then David Young Community Academy, he taught himself how to play piano and write music. After years of working hard at his skills, he eventually found himself in the industry with a full time publishing deal writing for artists such as Matt Cardle and travelling to work on international music projects in Italy, Germany and Nashville.  Today Curtis is 23 years old, and has just ventured into the early stages of his career as a music artist.  This has led Curtis to the Let It Shine stage.

The charity is unique in the fact that they support individual children, community groups, children’s hospices and other children’s charities, so by supporting Cash for Kids you are actually supporting hundreds of great causes in the local region. One of the biggest events they do is Mission Christmas, last year the appeal delivered gifts to over 23,396 local children ensuring that no child wakes up to nothing on Christmas morning.
