Microblading vs. Brow Lamination

We know that many of you have been missing our amazing eyebrow treatments over the last few months, and we can't wait to offer them to you again in the near future. Bliss are proud to offer all of the most popular and effective brow treatments available. Both microblading and brow lamination have taken the beauty industry by storm, creating beautiful, fuller brows. But how do you know which one is right for you? Here we go into the differences between the two.

Brow lamination works with your natural brow hair to hide gaps and straighten unruly hairs, creating a fuller look and giving a similar result to brow gel (without having to apply brow gel every day). It is a non-invasive procedure with results lasting up to 4-6 weeks.

By contrast, microblading is a tattooing technique which adds hair like strokes. Again, it gives the appearance of fuller brows. It is generally a fair bit more expensive than brow lamination, however results can last up to three years.

So what is microblading? It is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that involves using tiny, fine-point needles rather than a tattoo gun. It is used to create the illusion of fuller brows, but you choose the end result - a light, natural finish or beautifully bold.

Your expert therapist will help you to determine the best colour and shape for your face before cleaning and numbing the area in preparation. Next, the therapist uses the a little hand-held tool made up of the fine point needles to manually draw hair strokes. Finally a finishing treatment is added to help the skin to heal. The treatment is a little painful, but so worth it for the amazing results!

The entire process can take between 30-60 minutes, and the results generally last between 1-3 years depending on your skin type, facial products, and lifestyle. Your therapist will discuss aftercare with you, which is essential to avoid infection.

If you have any more questions about microblading, please email MD Beverley Silver at info@blissbeautyspa.com.

Everything you need to know about microblading - coming soon to Bliss!

You may be aware that microblading will soon be coming to Bliss, and we're pretty excited about it. We're looking forward to offering our valued clients introductory prices for a limited time that will allow you to treat yourself to fabulous brows for the best price possible. In the mean time, we realise that you may have some questions, which we will aim to answer in this blog post.

 So what IS microblading?

Put simply, it is a semi-permanent treatment for fuller, natural-looking brows. The bespoke approach creates the best shape for your face and preferences. The tool used is like a small pen with small needles at the end. The needles don't penetrate the skin but just scratch the surface with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer for the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes. Believe it or not, it's not as painful as it sounds.

The process is different to tattooing your brows, as it is on the surface rather than in the deeper layers of the skin. It is also semi-permanent unlike tattooing, and the colour will fade after around 1-2 years. The hair strokes are also much finer and more natural looking than a tattoo could ever be, due to the precision of the tool used.

Once completed, you will need to follow a few simple aftercare protocol to ensure that your brows heal properly, for example you just avoid swimming for 10 days, and avoid picking at your brows. Your therapist will discuss this with you at your appointment. Do check back to our blog regularly for the latest updates.
