The Bliss Guide to Home Tanning
.
We know that many of you may be missing our top of the range sunbeds, or awarded bronzing spray tans. You'll be glad to know that we will be kicking off our relaunch with a multitude off offers including sunbed deals, which will be available to purchase online prior to Bliss reopening. In the mean time, we bring you the ultimate guide to perfect fake-tanning at home.
Step 1 - Exfoliate all over beforehand for a smoother, even finish. Use a loofah and follow with an exfoliating scrub such as Soap and Glory's Breakfast Scrub which also smells delicious. For your face use a straight, edge-like facial razor or a gentle, oil-free scrub.
Step 2 - Hydrate areas that tend to soak up a lot of colour, including palms, knuckles, cuticles, elbows, and feet. Hydrating those spots puts a barrier between your skin and the self-tanner, keeping your faux-glow looking more natural. To hydrate, apply an oil-free, lightweight moisturiser.
Step 3 - Use a mitt to apply your self tanner to avoid streaks. Tanning mitts provide a flat, smooth surface for even and flawless coverage. For the best results, start at your feet (apply sparingly there) and work up to your neck using long, vertical strokes. Switch to a smaller mitt to apply self-tanner to your face.
Step 4 - Use a hairdryer to dry to dry the self tan faster. This helps helps the formula dry super-fast and jump-starts the tan-developing process.
Step 5 - Wipe away any excess formula, for example any that may be on your palms, using an oil-free makeup wipe. Don't forget to wipe down the cuticles on your fingers and toes!
Step 6 - If the product that you're using requires you to rinse off, do so with warm water and pat your skin with a towel to dry it. Aggressively drying your body with a towel can lift away the tan.
